Once the capital city Kolkata has many traditions and history. Even today, the city can see many abandoned Demonic buildings that were once huge crowed with people. Many of them are known to people today as ghost houses or places. But not in every case haunted place means only abandoned house rather many time we see any well populated area or public place is also considered as haunted. Some of them are discussed today.The top haunted places of Kolkata city are as below.
- Rabindra Sarobar Metro Station: Known for several suicides, this metro station is believed to be haunted by the restless spirits of those who died there, with commuters reporting strange apparitions.
- Howrah Bridge: Here also suicide cases are not less. So people see it as a haunted place too. Many claim to see a woman wearing white saree with strange voice who died once jump into the river from bridge.
- National Library – Ghost with an OCD: People who come here even librarian also they often hear someone’s footsteps, but no one can see anything.
- Nimtala Ghat – Where Aghoris Roam: Dead bodies are cremated here so people have veery negative idea about this place.
- Putulbari – House of Dolls Possessed: The story about this house one old lady used to live here but she had raped and killed by miscreants and since her spirit haunts the house.
- Writer’s Building – Dead Man Walking: Those who work here say they can hear the footsteps of a man walking throughout the building. Sometimes Cring sound also can be heard.
- The Royal Calcutta Turf Club – The Fallen shall Rise : It is not just men and women who apparently roam around as ghosts in Kolkata, but also horses. Such a spectacle locals claim to have seen at The Royal Calcutta Turf Club; a white horse (think Shadowfax) racing on the tracks under a full moon
- Hastings House – Lordship Defiled: Hastings House belonged to the first Governor-General of the Presidency of Fort William (Bengal), Warren Hastings. Upon his return to England, he was impeached for several alleged misconducts, an event which was followed by seven years of trial, finally ending in his acquittal. The footsteps of his ghost are said to be head here; the spirit comes to the house in search of a folder, which supposedly contained papers that would have protected him against impeachment.

- Park Street Cemetery – Pure Gothic Horror: Once this place was used to bury the dead bodies but now. At present it is open for tourists. Those who go there almost everyone they feel some negative energy in himself.
- Kolkata Dockyard – The Nawab Lusts for Revenge: Also known as Kidderpore Dock, Kolkata Dockyard was built by the Nawab of Awadh, Wajid Ali Shah. His maritime trade with the East India Company ran quite successfully, until he was betrayed by the British. Now, his soul, they say, is back for revenge. Sailors and traders report seeing shadows doing rounds of the dockyard, supposedly of the Nawab, who wants revenge from the British for backstabbing him.
- Lower Circular Road Cemetery – The Lost, Forgotten, Sad Spirit: a British government officer, named William Hay MacNaghten, who was killed and his body mutilated during the Anglo-Afghan War. His remains were brought by his wife, who then buried them here. It is said that if you narrate this story at his grave, the tree above it starts shivering. So, it seems that even nature weeps for this poor soul.
