A distinction should be made between nationalism and radical nationalism.
Nationalism is good but extreme nationalism is not good for any country. It is also not right to associate every thing of the country and especially many personal things with nationalism as is being done in India today. Trying to illustrate the point with a small example, let’s say I am in a border area and the situation in the country is very alarming. If I chant Vandemataram in that situation then it is definitely appropriate but if I go to a wedding ceremony and say Vandemataram, it is never appropriate. Currently, a reel of a woman has gone viral, although the reel is made with some offensive words, many people are saying that many people are making this viral but they don’t think about the country’s army, they don’t make any issue of the country’s army viral. Reels are a matter of people’s personal taste and the country’s army is a completely different matter, the two should never be conflated. We all love our country but that’s why we don’t chant Bande Mataram every moment it’s crazy. Let’s say a soldier is fighting on the country’s border and comes home while he is romancing his wife if the two relationships are completely different. A man’s duty is to his country as well as to his family and his wife. Or he may also have some personal choices that he can live with, so one should not ignore their personal preferences for the sake of nationalism in every matter. Let’s say a person is watching an adult movie and he comes to his house and is doing the duty of a father or husband or son just depending on the incident, I can’t say that person is completely bad. That’s because watching the adult movie may be his taste trait but his actions show that he is aware of his responsibilities. It is not right to take nationalism to the level of extremism in all matters, otherwise it will happen at some point that India will become a radical country like Bangladesh or Pakistan.
No one can change people’s taste preferences 5000 years ago people’s taste will not match the standard of living they have now because now time has changed many developed things have come in the market we are using them so according to the present time we are We have adapted ourselves to understand that it is normal. There are many bigoted people who don’t like reels but they have to adapt to everything over time or else they will be forced to cut themselves off from society because if there are a hundred people in society, what five people say or don’t say doesn’t matters to others. Others say that why Tulsi Puja is not performed on Valentine’s Day, in fact he does not remember Tulsi Puja on the rest of the 365 days, he only remembers on that Valentine’s day. Nationalism is good but extreme nationalism leads us into narrow alleys so we have to be careful about that. The most important thing is that man cannot be alert at every moment, he cannot mention that officiality completely at every moment and he will try to relax a bit after a while and if he doesn’t get it then conflict will start in his mind which is never desirable. But that means just because of one word he said or one thing he saw you will call that person bad character and it will say that person is not right even for nationalism.
