Janai Rajbari is located in Hooghly district of West Bengal state in India. Traditional history of Rajpalce is very interesting. Janai place is mainly famous for Rajbari and Manohar sweets here. Janai Rajbari two kilometers away from Janai Road station. Kali Prasad Mukhopadhyay established the palace in 1827 AD. The house is now an old, dilapidated structure with almost no maintenance. Photographs of the house during the construction of the palace are still preserved here, which shows how much the 200-year-old palace has changed.
Kali Prasad Mukhopadhyay was the Dewan of the East India Company and Beneficial people. Ganga Nanda Upadhyay was one of the 5 Bam von of Kanoj Raja in history. He was later given the title of Mukhopadhyay after attaining the supreme title. Kali Prasad Mukhopadhyay is a descendant of Ganga Nanda Upadhyay. Outside the Rajbari there is a Shiva temple built by Kali Prasad Mukhopadhyay. Entering through the entrance of the palace, you can see a Nat temple and the architecture of rows of houses on three sides. No one lives in this palace at present. Every year the local peoples organize Durga Puja here.
The nearest railway station here is Janay Road. Distance from Howrah to Janay is about 20 km. There are local trains from Howrah besides there are bus facilities from Howrah Kolkata to travel here.
