A mysterious story set in a ghostly village in the bird that commits suicide while passing over the village, Jatinga
A place in Assam known as Haunted is currently going viral on the internet as to why birds suddenly die there. Many people say that under the influence of black energy, birds choose to commit suicide there. About three hundred and fifty kilometers from Guwahati in Assam is a remote village called Jatinga with which the haunted story is associated. A tribal community used to live here around 1900 but suddenly the animals started crossing in front of their house and they found some evil connection with it so they soon changed the place. However, this bird’s death happened every year, but this rare event happened at a specific time of years.
A few days later, another tribe named Jatinga lived there. But the people of this tribe take the death of birds from the sky as a blessing rather than a curse. So they started eating the birds that were falling from the sky. Every year from September to November this incident happens between 7 pm and 10 pm many birds start falling from the sky and die and the birds that do not die are killed and eaten by the natives. Even though there are various scientific explanations from different experts and even bird experts about this phenomenon, none of them are exactly reliable, and till today people do not know why suicide tends to increase in birds at this particular time. It should be noted that during this period not only one species of bird dies but about 50 different species of birds die.
We spoke to a very old man of the community who found out that the death of these birds was linked to the incident of three women from the tribal community who lived earlier in the place. The three women knew witchcraft and caused a lot of harm to the villagers as well as the animals and birds living in the area. It was heard that the three women ate human flesh and also ate any animal raw. It was learned that they were involved in many cases of missing children in that village and they used to eat the children raw. The incident later became known and they were burnt one by one. But the three events did not occur simultaneously but occurred in three different months, the first occurred in September, the second in October and the third in November. The first event occurred on the new moon night of September. A woman sets out to exercise black power and is caught red-handed when she is about to kill the last child and eat its flesh when the villagers burn her alive. In the two months following her murder, two others were caught committing similar heinous acts. Incidentally when the three of them were killed it was roughly between seven and ten o’clock that is when they were killed during the new moon. The villagers still believe that the spirits of the three women still roam here and kill innocent animals. However, we have not found any reliable evidence of this incident, it is only people’s words. Known as a haunted place and many tourists come here to visit this place.
