Conflict place of Gods & Demons

Mandarchal Parvat or Mandar hill which is the conflict place of gods & Demons which is also mentioned in Vishnu purana as well as other mythological texts Mandar Parvat, also known as Mandar Hill is a small mountain situated in Bounsi, Banka district under Bhagalpur division of state of Bihar. During the churning of the sea the gods and demons used this mountain to collect nectar from the sea.

There is a pond below this 750 feet high mountain and it is believed that taking bath in this pond will get rid of all the sins. This place is holy for Hindu and Jain both religions. Here you have to trekking the stairs to go to the top of hill.  A carnival is organised every year at Mahavir Jayanti & Makar Sakranti.

There is a place named Sankh Kunda, during Churning of the sea when lord Shiva drank poison then this Sankha was needed. Only on the day of Shiva Ratri it rise above the water and on rest of the day it remains under the water

Before climbing to the top of the hill temples of various gods and goddess can be seen at different places. Almost 500 steps you have to cross to go to top of hill. Timing to visit of temple is 6am to 6 pm every day.
