Couple Friendly Park

The park is located at Shibpur in Howrah District of West Bengal which is stone throw distance from Kolkata. The speciality of this garden is it is expanded very huge area and in rich of different types of Vegetation. Covering an area of more than 100 acres almost there is 12000 specimens of plants. The park has 300 years old Banayan tree, and it is largest banyan tree in all over the Asia. So, people come from far away area only for seeing it. Besides this is a couple friendly park. Lovers or couples can surely spend sometimes at here in the lap of nature.

History of Shibpur B Garden

The journey of Shibpur B garden starts in 1787 by the hands of Colonel Robert Kyd of East India company. The purpose of setting up a garden was to bring the new species of plants to India and Market them to make profit. Earlier it was under the British Government but now it is under the Department of Botanical survey of India of Indian Government. in British era it was named as Calcutta Botanical Garden but now its popular name is Shibpur B garden.

What did I see and realize when I went there?

I went there two years ago with my friend. The whole place was huge and different type of plants. There are many gates to enter the garden. The place is very peaceful and suitable as couple friendly park, those who want to spend some time here. Besides Ganga River is flowing whose cold breeze touches out body and fills the mind with joy. Those who live in city must come here to spend some time. The place is considered as the reservoir of oxygen where you can sleep peacefully some hours.

How to Reach ?

If you are going from Howrah Bus, no 61 & 80. And from Esplanade or Dharmatala bus no 55,59 are available.

Entry fee & Timing of Gate Open

Entry fee Rs 10 & Rs 100 For Foreigners. Gate open 10 am To 5 pm.
