Dakshina Kali Of Kolkata, Dakshineswar temple timings

It is a Hindu Nava Ratna temple in India or commonly known as Dakshina Kali of Kolkata Rani Rasmani inaugurated this temple on 31st May 1855. She was the wife of a zamindar of Jan bazar, Kolkata and a social worker.

Nineteenth century Yogi Ramakrishna Paramahamsa used to practice Kali sadhana here. Here the Goddess is called as Bhavatharini.

The statue is made of stone. Maa Bhavatharini standing on the silver vessel to the south and Mahadeva himself below.

There are also Radha Krishna Temples, Nat temple, 12 Shiva Temples, Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa’s house and Ramakrishna’s wife Sarada Devi’s house.

The Hooghly River flows by the side of the temple, beside the river there are statues of those who practiced under the umbrella of the eminent yogi Ramakrishna. And there is an embankment.

Rani Rasmani got the dream of Maa Kali and bought 20 acres of land from Mr. Jorn Hetins and built this temple on the east side of Hooghly River. The construction work started in 1847. Earlier it was known as Saheba Babichan. Part of which was a graveyard, a land suitable for Tantra practice

The cost to build the temple was 9 lakh and 25 thousand rupees.

Temple opening time is 6 am to 8 pm, cameras, bags, shoes are not allowed inside. To deposit outside

there are many flower shops and pooja paraphernalia shops in the temple premises

Currently there is a railway station named Dakshineswar. Distance Howrah station to Dakshineswar about 14 km. Available are bus, taxi.
