Hot Land of Bankura
We all know about The Grand Canyon of Colorado River but today we will know about The Grand Canyon Of west Bengal. The spot is located in west Midnapur at Gangani which is considered as the hot land of Bankura. The nearby river is Shilavati. Basically, this river has created the amazing sculpture of landform over thousands of years. The incredible beauty on red and ocher stones will blow your mind.
The place was the base of British during the Chua Rebellion during the British Period. Also, Pandavs stayed at here when they were in exile. Also, this place is related to Ramayana story. This is that place where Bhima Killed Bakraasur. The canyons here are 70 feet deep, if you want can go there by walk. The calmness of Shilavati River will delight your mind.
This can be a one-day tour but if you want can stay there, good hotels are there. From Kolkata almost 180km. But Via Dankuni Arambagh distance almost 130km. Nearest station is Garbeta which is distance of 4km only to Gangani. old persons are restricted to go down. If you have drone do not forget to bring because the place is very good for photoshoot. 360 degrees view you can get here which is really we enjoyed. But my suggestion avoid summer to come here, winter is preferable time.
Walking time should be very careful because land is very slippery. There is stairs for go down and go up. Overall, there are 70 stairs so a little bit difficult for old age. There is a watch tower also. Government has its own cottage or Resort here which should be booked online. From watch tower you can have overall view of this area.
