Quiet Place of Great Natural Beauty

Golap Bagh which is considered as the Quiet Place of Great Natural Beauty, which is located in Burdwan district of West Bengal state of India at a distance of three kilometers from Burdwan station. Golap Bagh place has become a tourist center for tourists. There is Burdwan Zoological Park or Rum Bagan Nature Reserve or Deer Park, Meghnath Saha Planetarium, Burdwan Science Centre, Krishna Sahar Park. People throng here almost throughout the year to see them.

Burdhaman Zoological Park/Rum bagan nature Reserve /Dear Park-There are various types of animals, birds and reptiles preserved in the new tree sanctuaries around here. It is a tourist center. Burdwan Zoological Park was created in 1949. There are sloth bears, Indian leopards, three types of deer (Sambar, chital,kakar),there are plenty deer here.silver pheasants, national peacocks, emu birds, two types of Monkey (red, langur), birds include tea birds, eagles, etc., and two types of turtles (star, box), Many fox. Next to this is Rum Bagan Nature Reserve. There are photos and brief descriptions of various reptiles and birds. And there are different statues. The entrance fee to the Zoological park is Rs.25. Rs 10 for children below eight years. Free for children under five years. Opening hours are 9 am to 5 pm in summer and 9 am to 4:30 pm in winter.Thusday are closed.

Meghnath saha Planetarium -Meghnath Saha Planetarium under Burdwan University started from January 9, 1994. By advanced 3D technology, special information about the unknown mysterious solar system is displayed here to show the tourists. There are 84 seats restricted for tourists to visit around 6 to 7 exhibitions per day. This tourist center was built in the memory of Meghnath Saha. Meghnath Saha was an astronomer, physicist and contributed to the field of nuclear physics. The Meghnath Saha Planetarium is built on 5.1 acres of land. The entry fee here is Rs 30 per head and Rs 15 per head for Burdwan University students. Meghnath Saha Planetarium opening hours are 1 PM to 7 PM.

Burdwan Science centre- On entering Burdwan Science centre, the first thing on the left is a huge statue of a dinosaur and on the right is a tubeless water mill.In front is the statue of Moni Rishi’s face. Surrounded by natural vegetation, the science center is built on two floors. There are various scientific machines that tourists can use or touch while there. Burdwan Science Center was started on January 9, 1994. Entry fee is Rs. 25 per head for tourists. Opening hours are daily from 10 am to 6 pm. It is closed on certain days like holidays and Kali Puja.

Krishna Sahar Park-Golap bagh in Burdwan has Krishna Sahar Park and Lane. The entry fee here is Rs 30 per head. The surroundings are decorated with natural surroundings and have a pond. Peaceful environment along the Lane. There are new facilities for children to play in. Photoshoots take place here and there are statues of various animals. This is called Burdhaman TSP. Opening hours here are from 11 am to 5 pm. This park was built in the 19th century.
