On June 23, 1757, with the terrible defeat of Nabab Siraj Ud Daulah at the Palashi Court, Bengal Bihar Orrisa with the whole India were waiting to go under the British. With that awaited an extreme history of treachery that would not be forgotten by the people of next few hundred years. The war of the British and Nawab of Bengal, Bihar, Orrisa Siraj Ud Daulah will be forever remembered in the history of India. Despite having an army ten times than British Forces, he was defeated by the treachery of one of his generals named Mirza far.
Robert Clive’s Trick
Robert Clive knew very well that nawab could not be defeated in the straight line so he followed the detour. He bought the chief commander Mirza far with the promise that he would be the next Nawab. Mirza far also swallowed his bait. At that time even the people of Bengal and India did not know because of this treachery they had to enslave the British for the next 200 years. Mirza Far had two-third of the army. Despite of many requests of Nawab, Mirza Far did not lead his army into battle.
Fate Of the Nawab
Seeing his defeat certain Nawab came to Murshidabad and hid. Even the place was not safe for him though because he knew his army chief Mirza far had joined with British so here too, he could die at any time. However, Mirza Far troops did not pursue him immediately because they were confident, they had the power to capture the Nawab anytime and kill him.
Meanwhile while English was rejoicing, Mirza Far was not at peace because somewhere he felt that the British were really going to put him on throne. Just then Robert Clive came to him and said why are you waiting here. He said just go to Murshidabad and capture the Nawab. He also added that one trusted British loyal General would accompany him to capture the Nawab. For several days Nawab hid in different ways. Although he thought he could have gone to somewhere in Bihar or Odissa, but he could have gathered his courage because he knew that Mirza Far was the real ruler and no place was safe for him, anywhere he could be captured and killed. While wandering around in this way, he was finally captured by Mirza Far army due to deception and treachery of a beggar.
The beggar who had told the real address of Nawab because of getting some sum of money. In fact Nawab was starving for three days he not even could walk. Out of compulsion, he was begging for food in a secret guise and that’s when he was caught. After capturing the Nawab Mirza far began to think what to do with Nawab. he had three options: first Nawab would be imprisoned for the rest of his life, Second, he would be sent to outside the country and three the last, Nawab would be killed. When he was unable to make decision his fiery seventeen years old son Mir Miran. Even though he was only seventeen years old, he was very bad tempered and fierce in his mind and no kind existed. And he was staunchly Anti-Nawab. He sent his father for taking rest and prepared himself mentally for killing nawab Siraj Ud Daulah.
Before death Nawab prayed a lot So that he was allowed to pray Namaj but Miron did not listen to it. He brutally killed the Nawab. This is how the lamp of Nawab Siraj Daulah ends. Nawab he had to pay price of extreme treachery from his close people. The people he once loved who ran their families were the ones who did not even think about killing him. It is very difficult to find such traces of treachery in the history of India. Thus ended the last part of Muslim rule in India and British rule began.
