If you want progress in life, abandon ego. The ego will never let you be in peace.
The biggest obstacle to establishing yourself at work or earning a living is your ego. It is such a terrible thing that it will never let you succeed, it will hide inside you and torment you constantly. You will always feel that others don’t care about you i.e. you will increase your self importance so much that if you even feel that things are not right then it will be very difficult for you and you may take some big decision from that. It will be very harmful for your career. Even after being established in life or occupying a high position because of this ego you will be bad to many people your taste will change and you will cause great destruction not only to yourself but also to family members you can do a lot of harm just because of this bad habit. Try as much as possible to avoid this ego because it is like an ocean which has no end so we should control ourselves as much as possible and never indulge ourselves in it.
Life is like a wave in the ocean, sometimes you will see rise and sometimes fall, both these things you have to accept. If you think you’ll always have a good time in life, you haven’t learned anything about life. But it doesn’t matter whether you are in good time or bad time in life this ego thing will hurt you in both cases. One should think about life like this we are on a stage to do first I can play the role of a king and I can play the role of a servant I am an actor or an actress both are equal in my case.
But self-esteem and ego can never be the same. Many people may think that self-esteem and ego are the same thing, but this is completely wrong. I don’t believe in theory what I feel is practical I like to discuss with everyone Self respect is where you are aware of your rights. But that being said, being strong all the time can never be called self esteem. Self esteem is when you go too far from logical sense and make wrong decisions which in many cases do not have any rationality. Giving due respect to every person and expecting your respect from them is self respect but I will not respect anyone and everyone will respect me it is called Ego which is very very deadly. Sometimes expecting a little too much from other people can be considered ego because when I expect people to respect me or give me expensive things, whether I admit it or not, when I expect people to respect me a little out of bounds. There is no definite boundary between self-esteem and ego, it is very difficult to say exactly where the boundary of self-esteem ends and ego begins. But all I can say is that the ego is the world from where the dark world begins and where the devil consumes even your soul and your life is destroyed as a result. You have to be very careful in this matter so that you do not allow this devil named ego in your mind in any way.
