Indian government should not only buy arms from USA or Russia but also improve the technology of arms production within the country. Arms manufacturing technology in one’s own country not only protects against foreign powers but also plays a major role in earning foreign currency.
A significant decision taken by the BJP government after coming to power in India is to increase India’s military stockpiles. Although many people within India criticized this decision, true patriots could not oppose this decision because if the arms stockpile was not strong, India could fall under the power of foreign powers at any time. Because we have to remember that India has a neighboring country China which is a very powerful country so if for any reason China attacks India and if India’s arsenal is not strong then India will be taken over by China which we as an Indian citizen can never wish for. Even now we see the Indian government buying advanced warplanes and other weapons sometimes from the USA and sometimes from Russia to make India a very powerful country. As an Indian citizen I support and appreciate this decision of the Government of India but at the same time I feel that India should increase its domestic arms production capacity along with importing arms from abroad. That is because a country becomes unstoppable only when it is able to manufacture its weapons within the country like the USA and Russia manufacture their weapons and warplanes within their own country. That’s because foreign powers like USA or Russia will help India by selling its arms for a certain period when they assume that India is going to become a stronger country than them, then they will become India’s most hostile country.
Although it must also be admitted that in-country production of arms is not possible so quickly as it requires sophisticated technology which may not be available in our country at present. But if there is a will, it will surely find a way, maybe we will not be able to do it in these few days, but if we continue to try from today, then even after twenty years or 30 years, the Indian government will be able to produce weapons within its own country. Just increasing the stockpile of arms does not mean that foreign powers will be afraid to attack you, we can also sell those weapons to different countries to earn foreign exchange, as powerful countries like the United States of America and Russia earn a lot of money by selling arms. Because currently having natural resources, the ability of a country to produce weapons gives that country the means to become a powerful country in front of the whole world. The previous government of India may have tried but they could not improve the arms production in the country in that way, but the common people have high expectations from this government. Hopefully the Indian government will also implement its Make India project and will be able to manufacture arms within its own country..
