Goddess submerged in water

Jogadya Devi is the goddess submerged in water. According to mythology the right great toe of Goddess Sati had been dropped here in the time of Dakshya Joggya . The goddess is named as Jogadya . The specialty of this particular Sati pith is that the name of Kshirgram is mentioned in all of the Tantras. Kshirgram is an ancient village under Mongalkote Police Station in the district of Bardhaman. The village is well connected by road. Its distance is around 40 Kms from Bardhaman and 20 kms from Katwa. The nearest Railway Railway station is Kaichar which is around 4 kms from here from Kolkata 165 kms.

 Mahi Ravana was a devotee of Goddess Bhadrakali. Lord Hanuman went to Patal and Mahi killed Ravana and fled from there with Lord Rama and Lakshmana, meanwhile Lord Hanuman also took the idol of Goddess Bhadrakali and installed the idol in Ksheergram. Later the name of Devi Bhadrakali was changed to Jogdya.
