When entering Jagat Seth’s house, two lion statues are seen at the entrance door. At that time, lion idols were seen in the houses of powerful people. Entering the Singha Duar, which is the main gate, the first two-storied gallery houses gold and silver coins of the then Jagat set and 2-rupee notes, and the second floor houses the war dress of Mirzapur, the conspirator of the Palashi war, and Lord Clive of the East India Company. Upon entering Jogot set house, one can see a water filter manufactured by the then famous company Matin Burn & Company.

Jagat Seth is one of the conspirators of the Battle of Palashi. There is a temple of Parasnath in front here. which is the temple of the 23rd Tirthankara of Jainism. Jagat Set i.e. Mehtab Chand was a man of Jain religion. His original residence was in the city of Rajasthan state. He came to Murshidabad on business in 1704 AD. And his textile business was very prominent in Murshidabad. His interest was real in Bangladesh and all over India including Murshidabad and he expanded his trade outside India as well. And was one of the richest people.

One of the tourist attractions here is Gupta Ghar. Where cameras are not allowed. The secret road leads to the palace in the wooded garden. Which is about one kilometer away from here. At that time rich businessmen including Bhritti and Jagat Set and Narayana did their many occult works by adopting this occult path. Now entering this secret room one can see various things used by queens and queens like palanquins used by queens with silver plates and various furniture.

The entry fee here is Rs.20 per head and no entry fee for children below six years. And 130 rupees per head in case of expatriates. The distance from Kolkata to one of the tourist centers of Murshidabad is about 198 km. Express train available from Sealdah and Kolkata. Also available buses are from Howrah and Kolkata.
