Chandramukhi’s Real Search Quest, yesterday we went to Kali Kapur Raj palace. Located in Burdwan (East) district of West Bengal, this is that well known Raj palace with which the name ” Chandramukhi ” is related. We have a lot about Chandramukhi in Bollywood and south Indian movies. Chandramukhi became more popular all over the India with Akshay Kumar movie ” Bhool Bhulaiyaa” . The story was Chandramukhi and Basanta were lovers. She was a dancer as well as so Beautyful lady. King wants to marry her but she loved only Basanta, so she did not agree. Finally, King killed Basanta seeing no other way.
Although this was very a popular story but till now no one has been able to give any prof supporting the existence of Chandramukhi. This Raj Palce is located about 175km away from Kolkata. . The mansion has been used as a shooting location by directors like Mrinal Sen, Rituparno Ghosh, Sandip Roy, Anik Dutta, Bappaditya Bandopadhyay and Dhrubo Banerjee.
Many say that this part of Raj Bari was actually modeled after Chandramukhi, a symbol of how Candramukhi used to wait for Basanta her lover.
Gana Devta Express reaches Bolour by 9am. From here, hire a car to Kali Kapur Rajbari via Illam bazar and Basudha (28 km one way). Basudha is the nearest bus stand that can be reached from Bolour. The mansion is a 10–15-minute ride by toto from there.
