Regional political parties in Tamil Nadu have now started a new issue of language. Political leaders are trying to gain their own advantage by making Tamil vs Hindi conflict
As Tamil Nadu elections are coming up, the local leaders there have started a dispute over language. In fact, this language dispute is a big political capital of the political leaders of southern states because whenever there is an election in any states, they make a fight between Tamil and Hindi, thus exploiting a sentiment and capturing votes. It is reported that the name of a railway station in Tamil Nadu was written in Hindi along with the English and Tamil language and that Hindi name has been erased with ink. I am not insulting Tamil language every language has its own beauty and one must respect one’s mother tongue but it is stupid to show the greatness of one’s language by insulting another language. Actually all these people who do such activities do not go out of their state so they don’t have to face difficulties but the common people there must suffer because of it. This will have an impact on other Tamil people living or working outside of Tamil Nadu as the people there will force them to speak the local language.
Wise people do not exaggerate about language religion Language religion is a way of survival of a human being but it should not be exaggerated. I live in West Bengal where local language is Bengali. When I go outside West Bengal I have to learn another language apart from Bengali which is at least common so I have learned Hindi too. But that doesn’t mean I disrespect my language. Those who think like this are a small class of people but I think not every person thinks like this there are many tamil people who oppose this kind of activity. Sharing a small incident here we have a person who went to Tamilnadu due to some reason and faced a lot of language problem according to him he didn’t get any help from the people there he was using Hindi because he didn’t know the local language which is very normal. But the people there did not help him in any way. As a result, his anger towards the people of Tamil Nadu naturally accumulated. Suddenly, he got the opportunity to take over. After a few days, a Tamil Nadu man was transferred as a manager in a local bank there. The manager from Tamil Nadu knew nothing but Hindi and English so when the common people found out that he was from Tamil Nadu he was forced to speak Bengali because the local people did not understand anything except Bengali. In a word, for no reason or without any fault, that gentleman from Tamilnadu i.e. the manager of the bank had to be harassed, maybe it was not his fault but the kind of incident people do in that state is in other states. It will have a side effect on people. I repeat again I don’t support this type of incident. Disputes on any language or religion do not work in civilized world but some people do such activities to suit their interests and common people unknowingly support such activities and spoil their own future because people of that state must face harassment when they go to other states to look for work.
There are not one but many such instances where people visiting Tamil Nadu have been subjected to harassment simply because they do not know the local language.. I don’t understand one thing how the common people of the seven places support such events because they also have to go abroad and no matter how many languages a person knows, there must be a common language through which he can express to others what he wants to say to others. West Bengal is trying to start this kind of politics by exploiting the language dispute of South India as the local leaders there are looting the benefits, fighting Bengalis with non-Bengalis. But we who love the country will never condone this kind of danda because we know clearly that political leaders create such issues for their own benefit to gain votes. That’s because these political leaders are not above the common people. If the common people indulge these political leaders, they will become more dangerous and people’s conflicts will increase. Every language must be respected whose own mother tongue but that doesn’t mean you have the right to disrespect someone else’s language. I understand that Hindi is not a national language but it is used as the official language of the country, it is a common language because India is a big country with many speaking people living here, so we all have to resort to one language to communicate with each other. So I don’t see anything wrong in it now more and more people know Hindi so Hindi is used as common language. But how many people know Tamil language outside Tamilnadu so Tamil should never be used as official language because it will cause problems to many people. But again I say every person has the right to respect and protect his mother tongue there is no dispute about it but creating extremism in any way is wrong and constitution of India never supports it. Action should be taken against all these political leaders because they can divide India into two or even three or four parts if they get a chance.
