I don’t know anything about the world of music but I love to listen to music. After legends like Manna De Hemant Mukhopadhyay the name I like the most is Srikanth Acharya whose modern songs I have been listening to since childhood never seem old. Srikanth Acharya is afraid of him as if he has a magic. I heard the same song in the voice of another singer and I heard it in his voice like heaven and earth. I have been listening to his songs since my childhood whenever I feel sad I listen to his songs his voice is melodious and every word is like a legend like the words of life are very precious words to be taken seriously but his taste is so sweet. Now when I am writing this article, I am still standing on the roof listening to his songs. It feels very good. My mind got involved. So I sat down to write. Srikant Acharya is the name without which modern Bengali music cannot be imagined. Maybe someone can disagree with me, but I think Srikant Acharya is truly a talent of a unique level. I have been listening to his music for a long time, but I have not heard anyone say any kind of insult or criticism in the name of the gentleman. He is busy with his own world, he never comes into politics or seems to have any interest in politics or anything other than music, that’s why I love him so much.
It is nice that a singer is loved by every person for his work but when he has political color then people will be divided. This thing may be legally correct but morally it should not be because an artist is famous for his art, I don’t think there is any need to come into politics. As far as I know those who are artists are very emotionally involved so a little injury seems very difficult for them but politics is a profession where one has to bear a lot of abuse maybe not everyone can bear it so we all know what happened to a famous actor like Tapas Pal when he entered politics. We have heard Srikanth Acharya’s songs and never had the chance to meet him in person but this gentleman doesn’t seem to like being in the limelight too much. When I used to watch his cassette when I was young, we saw his picture differently but now he is very old, time will have its effect, but the gentleman’s voice has not changed, but as time goes by, his age is getting more amazing and he is giving us a very beautiful music. In today’s Hindu festivals, no matter how fierce music is influenced, Srikanth Acharya’s song will play even if it is just like love because no matter how much salt is in the curry, if there is a little sweetness, it will taste wonderful.
