First Horror in Bollywood.
It is the first horror in Bollywood. Nowadays we have seen many haunted movies in Bollywood but many of us may not know which was the first super hit haunted movie in Bollywood film. 1972 saw the release of Bollywood’s first haunted movie, “Do gas Jamin Ke Niche ” produced by Ram Say Brothers. The producers of this film are famous for making many more haunted movies and later they made the horror film Purana Mandir.
The film was made on a very low budget and became a huge success. The film cost only 3 lakhs but the movie was a hit and earned around 45 lakhs. Since then there has been a trend of making haunted movies in Bollywood. When the movie was released, it was not released in many theaters, it was released in very few theaters and the front of the theater had a sign that it was India’s first haunted movie.
Early in the movie we see a scene where a man is digging in a cemetery that actually turns up on a site adjacent to a church that was originally allowed to be a church. However, when the earth was being dug in that church, several skeletons were found, which caused a fear among the local people, and later some pious activities were carried out so that there would be no problem. The movie was made in 40 days and no expense was spared in promoting the movie. Since it was a ghost movie, the director had a little doubt that maybe the movie would be a hit or not, there were some provocative scenes in the movie, so the censor board gave it an adult certificate, so it was not advertised much and it was classified as a B-grade movie.
