Expose the Village Ramgarh of the Movie Sholay.
Today I will expose the village Ramgarh of the movie Sholay, the shooting spots of the 1975 Dharmendra Amitabh Bachchan starrer Sholay. The most popular song of this movie ”Ae Mere Dosti Hum Nahi Vulege” which was shot under the Great Banyan Tree in Bangalore. Also, many parts of the movie were shot in a place called Ramnagar in Karnataka.
Parts of the film were also shot in parts of Maharashtra. Actually, what was shown as Ramgarh in the movie is actually Ramnagar place which is a village of about 40 km from Bangalore and this village is surrounded by big hills now it has become a tourist spot.
The hills are still standing as we saw them in the movie and when Amitabh Bachchan’s death came in the movie was shot at this place which is still preserved by the local people. But the reason you can’t see the water tank now is because by talking to the locals we found out that there was no water tank actually, the film team had made an artificial one out of that water tank and when they were done with the shoot, they destroyed it so now you No water tank will be seen there.
A lot of help was taken from the local villagers during the shooting of this film although in those days I mean about 50 years back then there were no villagers nearby at this shooting spot they were located far away we spoke to an old man among them and got to know the local people. The shooting of this film helped the team a lot and in return they got some money. We know there are very few people who haven’t seen that movie, so whenever you come to Bangalore, make some time to spend time here in a different way. But this much we can say if you visit the place in time, you will feel as if all the characters of that movie are standing in front of you and they are saying their dialogues a strange natural beauty this place has many memories.
