We demand equal participation of women in employment
I was born in a middle class family in the 90s. Usually the head of the family does not allow his wife or any other women in the family to work outside the home. But now the situation has changed the social and economic context of India has changed a lot now. That is why it is now seen that many women from middle class families are coming to employment which is good for the family as well as the whole country. A great man said that the day we use two hands we will move towards real development. By two hands he meant the equal role of men and women in the workplace. Earlier if the girls of the family went to work then people understood that there is no such thing as security for her but nowadays the safety of women in the workplace has been ensured so much that a large number of women are joining the workplace.
Now I’m talking about men. It’s true that men’s economic earning power is much lower than it used to be, not only because women have taken over their jobs, but also because the demand for men in the workplace has decreased. Apart from this, the importance of men in the social aspect has also decreased due to the fact that many facilities provided by the government are exclusively available to women and men are not getting any facilities. That’s why many established guys today are not finding suitable women for their marriage. It’s an extreme problem that I, being a child of a middle class family, can feel enough. However, as women have gained considerable rights in employment, the extent to which they were previously oppressed by men has decreased. Now if I bring the discussion to the family rather than as a whole, it will be understood that when a girl goes outside the family to work and she comes back with a certain amount of money at the end of the month and gives it to her family, it becomes a strong reliable sphere for the family. A relative of mine was not earning enough money so I suggested him to hire his daughter in a company as an employee.Initially she was reluctant but later agreed. Now that girl has become a significant economic source for the family which is somehow supporting the family today. This means that of late, people are slowly realizing that women should participate in the workplace along with men, only for a family to function properly.
But it is true that many families understand the importance of this issue but they don’t want to send the girl of the family for employment fearing that no one can guarantee her safety. Adequate measures have been taken for women to work safely in big companies. I have also worked in several big companies and I am quite impressed by the safety of women there. Not only big companies but small companies are now under the pressure of the government, they are introducing adequate security measures for women employed in employment, which is definitely a good aspect, the number of women in employment will increase in the future. But I think not only women should be given security but men who work there as their colleagues should change their mentality towards women only then we can expect a harmonious society. The man should also understand that there are women in his family, that woman may be his sister or mother, so he should treat his mother and sister in the same manner as other employed women. Men and women in the society are like two hands of a man if one is weak then that person cannot work properly in the same way if these women are alive in the society if they do not participate in employment then the development of the country is never possible and a civilized society is never possible.
